I had the opportunity to fly out to Dallas, Texas for ESEA LAN 15 to obtain media coverage for @Mousespaz, a gaming team made up of 5 players (Slip, Lucky, Cutler, Sobo & FNS) who compete in Counter-Strike Global Offense at a professional level.
The event is held by ESEA, an organization who leads in hosting the competition seasonally. The league is broken up into 4 divisions, (from lowest to highest) open, intermediate, main and invite. Each team starts off at the lowest level, with the intention of gradually making it to an invite.
I must say, the experience was more than I imagined it to be. ESEA presented the event in a very professional manner, from the media coverage, to the broadcasting, team sportsmanship, even down to the catering.
Although Mousespaz didn’t finish first, it was still a winning experience for myself ,and the team. I learned that competitive intensity doesn’t only live in professional sports, but anything that is played through passion. The hype, fustration and heart showed by team Mousespaz was enough to make me believe that the love for the game is no different than the love Kobe Bryant, or Wayne Gretzky have for their sport.

I hope to attend another ESEA Lan in the feauture to support Mousespaz. I would like to thank Chris “Sh3nl0ng’ Keefer for putting EHLIENS on as a lead sponsor & making it all possible.
